Abstract:
In this study, an integrated analysis of the main agrometeorological and pedological factors for viticultural suitability in Sardinia, Italy, was carried out. The multicriteria suitability model included indexing and classifying bioclimatic factors (Huglin, dryness, and cool nights), based on high-resolution (40 m) climate maps of current climatology (1981-2010), and of soil's stationary, physical-structural, and chemical factors, using the soil and salinity maps, the digital terrain model, and the Corine Land Cover (2018) as input datasets. The categorization in composite bioclimatic and pedological indices allowed for representing viticultural suitability and providing an overall picture of Sardinia's viticultural agroclimatic resources and limitations. Finally, homogeneous suitability zones were delimited for the Nurra, Gallura, Jerzu – Cardedu – Barì Sardo and Parteolla – Settimo S. Pietro study areas through clustering techniques, applied to the multicriteria viticultural maps.
